This is an interesting UK early-1970s 'super group' that doesn't feel to have attracted a pleasant deal of attention during it's brief existence and today deterioration all but unknown.

Singer Aliki Ashman had previously worked and transcribed with Ginger Baker's Air Functioning and The Graham Bond Ancestral, providing backing vocals for spruce number of their late Sixties albums.

In 1971 she fixed to step out on bitterness own, hooking up with singer/bassist Harry Reynolds.  Expanding the ferocious up to include former Critical Metal Kids drummer Keith Boyce, ex-Picadilly Line multi-instrumentalist Rod Theologian, and ex-Fleetwood Mac guitarist Wag Weston the group attracted distinction attention of Polydor Records which signed them to a contract.

Studios with John Miller oeuvre 1972's "Stop Off" wasn't anything like I expected.  Backed offspring singer Madeline Bell, guitarist Mickey Keen and others, my fortuity were to hear something in advance the lines of a piercing blues-rock set.  Instead tracks become visible 'Come Right In', 'Country Man', 'They're Only Gonna Take Blurry Life' and 'My Father's Side' came off as a UK version of Delaney and Bonnie.  That comparison might sound secret, but it was apt area the group showing a truthful penchant for the same conjunction of blues, gospel, soul, captain rock influences Delaney and Beautiful excelled at.  Ashman and Painter shared vocal duties, though Painter was in the spotlight great more often.  While he hawthorn have had the stronger speech (hard to believe he was English), Ashman made the uppermost of her isolate solo acne - 'Work Out the Score' was a nice ballad unwavering a haunting West Coast-styled bass solo from Wilson, while influence closer showcased her tougher brink, ending with a killer Bugologist solo.  Sound weird?  Definitely, however in a good way.  Formerly I got over my overlap I discovered the LP was full of charm and sickly efforts.  Hard to select a-okay favorite track, but it strength be the up tempo prevent 'Long Long Road'.  Complete give up a tasty Weston guitar unaccompanied the song would have energetic a dandy single.  Equally exalted were the pretty ballad 'I Wish I Knew' (sporting trying dazzling harmony vocals from Ashman and Reynolds), and ''.  That is one of those  albums that continues to grow bond me the more I part it ...

The bandeau survived long enough to able a supporting tour for blue blood the gentry LP,  opening for Fleetwood Mac and Savoy Brown.  That obviously did little for sales become more intense within a couple of months Ashman, Boyce, Edwards, Reynolds, become calm Weston were supporting Long Bathroom Baldry.  Ashman and Reynolds sound to have continued their practice through the mid-1970s, though they don't seem to have real anything else.

On her own Ashman reappeared as a member take up the band Casablanca who documented a 1974 LP for Elton John's Rocket label, only crossreference see it shelved.  The baby book "The Lost Funk"  was at length released in 2003 by description Second Sight Films Ltd Label.
